Le Livre d’Or (The Book of Gold) is a unique 17th century French magical work comprising numerous amulets, charms, prayers, spells and sigils for working with the Biblical Book of the Psalms of King David. Written in a simple style akin to a medieval Book of Secrets combined with magical practices from the ancient world, Le Livre d’Or brings together practices which have their roots in major works from the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Cairo Genizah, to the Greek Magical Papyri and Sepher Shimmush Tehillim (Magical Use of the Psalms). Now translated into English for the first time, this exceptional text demonstrates the significance of the Psalms as a unifying and vital thread throughout the development of Western magic.

From Sweden to Syria, Britain to the Baltic, the use of appropriate Psalms has spread as a significant part of popular folk and religious magic, and Le Livre d’Or is an inimitable example of the transmission of divine power through the written and spoken word. Le Livre d’Or was originally bound as part of Lansdowne MS 1202 with a 17th century French copy of the most important of grimoires, the Key of Solomon.

The extensive commentary by David Rankine and Paul Harry Barron emphasises the place of the Psalms within the Grimoire tradition, detailing their extensive apotropaic, amuletic and coercive uses in works such as the Book of Abramelin, the Key of Solomon and the Goetia. The editors also illustrate how the magic of the Psalms has underlain and cross-fertilised numerous traditions over the last two thousand years, from Hellenic magicians, early Christians and Jews of the ancient world to practitioners of the medieval Grimoires and Renaissance Cunning-folk.

Whether it was for benevolent or malefic results, Le Livre d’Or provided the appropriate Psalm verses and relevant techniques. This previously ignored work is an outstanding example of eminently practical magic which not only draws on such major works as the Heptameron and the Steganographia, but also many of the divine names found in the Kabbalah. From Saints to spirits, characters to Creeds, Le Livre d’Or shines forth as a significant and reclaimed chapter in the Western Esoteric Traditions.

In response to the heated controversy surrounding the Harry Potter phenomenon, Christian Publications is excited to present the book "Harry Potter and the Bible: The Menace behind the Magick." The strange poetry in the Song of Solomon tells of an Israelite king’s weakness for foreign women and the consequences of his strategic alliances, especially with the Egyptian princess, Bathya.

Mysterious and sensuous, Bathya is a pagan priestess, a seducer of men, and an aspiring matriarch. Her role in the Song is subversively sinister - her occult seduction of the wisest monarch serves as a caveat to the nation itself.

Permeating the Song is a captivating sequence of spells, potions, fetishes, and rituals that draw the reader into a parallel mindset to that of Solomon. We accept Bathya’s words and actions on face value, mesmerised and drawn into a false sense of security, only to find, on closer scrutiny, that we too have been enchanted. This woman is a mistress of sorcery, using her craft to win her place in the Israelite kingdom, much to the chagrin of the king’s court.

This unorthodox interpretation, while offering a solid rationale for the Song’s sustained inclusion in the canon despite centuries of heated debate, provides the most intriguing and commanding depiction of feminine determination and resilience in the Bible.

This is a semi-academic work, with the focus on the subtleties of language. The entire text of the Song is broken down stanza by stanza to tell this unexpected story.
The magickal methods and esoteric knowledge of medieval Europe (476 to 1453 C.E.) form the ancestral backbone of modern ceremonial magick. To understand medieval magick, it’s necessary to know the primary repositories of this knowledge - the grimoires of spells, incantations, and ritual instructions for working with angels and conjuring spirits. And to understand the grimoires, you must delve into the life and times of the magicians who wrote them.
Scholar and magician Aaron Leitch sheds light upon the greatly misunderstood subject of the medieval mage in this comprehensive reference manual. In addition, he provides valuable comparisons among the magical practices described in the grimoires and various shamanic methods of working with the spirit world.
Throughout history, throughout most of the world, psychopaths have gotten a bad rap. That is quite understandable since almost all of the world's religious and social philosophies have little use for the individual except as a tool to be placed in service to their notion of something else: "God," or the "collective," or the "higher good" or some other equally undefinable term. Only rarely, such as in Zen and Tibetan Buddhism, and some school of Existentialism, is the individual considered primal. Here, finally, is a book which celebrates, encourages and educates the best part of ourselves--the Psychopath.

"You take people as you find them. They all have a secret life inside, and they usually die with it never coming out. That is the waste; the waste is not something they are not...the waste is not living what they are; however, what they are came about...came into existence...so what you do with your cards is what is important." -- Christopher S. Hyatt, Ph.D.

In the ancient Near East, the art of influencing the natural course of events by means of spells and other ritual forms was universal. The social and political role of magic is apparent, too, in the competition to achieve precedence over rival systems of ritual practice and belief. Within a region filled with petty kingdoms competing for power, the Jews of ancient Palestine maintained control over adherents by developing distinct ritual practices and condemning as heretical those of nearby cults. Texts from Mesopotamia reveal a striking number of incantations, rituals, and medical recipes against witchcraft, attesting to a profound fear of being bewitched. Magical rituals were also used to maintain harmony between the human and divine realms.

The roots of European witchcraft and magic lie in Hebrew and other ancient Near Eastern cultures and in the Celtic, Nordic, and Germanic traditions of the continent. For two millennia, European folklore and ritual have been imbued with the belief in the supernatural, yielding a rich trove of histories and images.

Witchcraft and Magic in Europe combines the traditional approaches of political, legal, and social historians with a critical synthesis of cultural anthropology, historical psychology, and gender studies. The series, complete in six volumes, provides a modern, scholarly survey of the supernatural beliefs of Europeans from ancient times to the present day. Each volume of this ambitious six-volume series contains the work of distinguished scholars chosen for their expertise in a particular era or region.

Early Christians were accused of practicing magic by Jews, pagans, and other Christians. Magic in the New Testament examines magical praxis common to the New Testament, the magical papyri, the Sepher Ha-Razim, the Book of Enoch, the apocryphal Acts and the pre-Nicene church fathers and surveys the professional literature on early Christian magic from 1927 through 2009. Additional topic include: · magic, family and sexuality, · the Old Testament background of early Christian magic, · the relationship between magic and apocalypticism, · veneration of relics and necromantic sorcery, · resurrection, ghost stories and polymorphism, · magic and mystery cult in early Christianity.
This is the first book to combine both the ancient art of burning candles for good luck and prosperity with reading the Psalms of the Bible.

William Oribello is considered one of the greatest teachers of the occult of the century.
