Der Motorradmarkt ist ein besonderer Markt. Nirgendwo sonst nimmt das Viralmarketing einen so hohen Stellenwert ein. Wo in anderen Sparten auf das ganze Spektrum der Markenkommunikation zurückgegriffen wird, kommt hier nur ein kleiner Teil der Kommunikationsmöglichkeiten zur Geltung. TV Werbung sieht man fast keine und auch sonst werden nur sehr wenig breitenwirksame Aktivitäten gesetzt. Hauptdistributoren der Markeneigenschaften sind Fachpresse und der Motorsport. Die jährlichen Berichte über verunglückte Motorradfahrer haben das ihrige zu erschwerten Marketingmaßnahmen beitragen. Im Hintergrund dieser Marktcharakteristik hat nun BMW ein Produkt auf den Markt gebracht, dass in einem von anderen Marken sehr stark dominierten Segment die Street Credibility gewinnen möchte. Vor diesem Hintergrund soll die vorliegende Arbeit nun untersuchen, welche Kommunikationsmaßnahmen für eine erfolgreiche Markteinführung notwendig sind. Am Beispiel von BMW wird analysiert, welche Markenkommunikationsaktivitäten gesetzt wurden und wie diese zu beurteilen sind.
