A complete collection of all the capitals carved in the Paris Basin before 1130 - over 4,000 - few of which have ever been published before. This special publication no. 4 of the European Association of Petroleum Geoscientists and Engineers is devoted to some recent developments in the petroleum geology of France. The last fifty years of French history have seen immense challenges for the French: constructing a new European order, building a modern economy, searching for a stable political system. It has also been a time of anxiety and doubt.
